The Shin Bet and the IDF detained a terror cell involved in a terror attack that took place on April 23 and in which an explosive device was planted on a main route leading to the Jewish community of Elon Moreh, it was cleared for publication on Wednesday.
No injuries were reported at the time of the attack.
Four Muslim Arab terrorists members of the cell, all residents of Shechem, were arrested.
The Shin Bet investigation revealed that the Muslim Arab terrorists were plotting to carry out a combined terror attack- they wanted to plant an explosive device along the road leading to the Jewish community and also target IDF soldiers deployed in the area.
It was determined that the cell members had indeed created, planted and activated the explosive device on the route leading to Elon Moreh with the intention of injuring and possibly murdering Israeli civilians and soldiers.
The terror cell had a lab where they manufactured explosive devices and improvised weapons, and forces seized munitions that the cell members had used.
All cell members arrested are expected to be indicted in the coming days.
