Two days after a series of shooting events took place in the city of Haifa, there is a growing suspicion among security forces that they were both connected and carried out due to nationalistic motives. A manhunt continued on Thursday through the Halisa Arab neighborhood—where the police’s main suspect is from—as its residents call on the suspect to turn himself in.
Two separate shootings in the northern Israeli city of Haifa on Tuesday, in which one man was killed and another moderately injured, may have been part of the same terror attack, according to an assessment by police.
Initially police suspected the shootings may have been gang-related, but subsequent investigation has increasingly led police to believe the incident may have been nationalistically motivated. Police imposed a gag order on the probe on Tuesday with few details made available to Israeli media.
